Ann Wilson of Heart and Jerry Cantrell of Alice in Chains paid tribute to fellow Seattle musician Chris Cornell at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony Saturday night by performing a somber version of Soundgarden’s ‘Black Hole Sun’.
In a poignant moment Ann seemed to put particular emphasis on the lyric “no one sings like you anymore.”
Watch the performance above and try not to cry.

Bon Jovi was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland Saturday night and fans finally got the reunion with guitarist Richie Sambora that they’ve long been yearning for, but I have to wonder if a permanent reunion is just a pipe dream.
Richie told Rolling Stone Magazine after the ceremony Saturday night “You know, it’s really strange…I really haven’t been thinking about it over the last 10 years and I wasn’t really sure it was going to happen. I figured that after 130 million records and all the achievement we had, that eventually it would come to fruition, [More]

Striking teachers in Oklahoma were seen on the news recently chanting Twisted Sister’s ‘We’re Not Gonna Take It’ and when Dee Snider took the stage for his week long stint in the Broadway musical ‘Rocktopia’ he dedicated the tune to educators.
It was an apparent shout out to the movement that began in Kentucky to raise awareness of the poor pay and under equipped classrooms that public school teachers all around the country are forced to deal with. According to website Ultimate Classic Rock, Snider “gave the teachers a tacit nod of approval on Twitter, noting that while “I totally [More]

“Let’s Have Fun”
If you were a kid on Long Island in the 60’s and 70’s you no doubt remember watching chubby funny man Chuck McCann on Sunday mornings on WPIX, channel 11 with his hilarious kids shows ‘Let’s Have Fun’ and ‘The Chuck McCann Show’. Chuck was a riot and his shows were like SNL for New York’s ankle-biters.
McCann branched out to films in 1968 and played an acclaimed role as a deaf mute in the Academy Award winning movie ‘The Heart is a Lonely Hunter’. McCann relocated to Los Angeles in the mid 70’s where he enjoyed a prolific career as [More]

If you missed last night’s live TV version of the rock opera ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’ watch Alice Cooper as King Herod in the video above. Why choose Alice Cooper to play the role? Well the part is written with Herod as an outsized, menacing character, a character Alice has embodied on stage from the get go!
Besides, I bet you didn’t know that Alice (AKA Vincent Furnier) is a biblical scholar! Well he is thanks to his upbringing by a dad who was a pastor.
Alice did play the roll previously in a 1996 staging of the show in London.

Met’s icon, the great Rusty Staub passed away today at age 73. Rusty was known off the field for his charitable endeavors as much as he was known on the field for his play. In fact Rusty started the New York Police & Fire Widows’ & Children’s Benefit Fund that has raised millions of dollars for the families of our first responders. Rest In peace Rusty.
Scroll down to watch Keith Hernandez talking about his friend and mentor Rusty Staub.
