5 Things to know about Steve Perry:
The only critics Steve Perry cares about are the fans.
He measures success by the number of encores the audience demands.
In the years after he left Journey he gained 50 – 60 pounds, got a butch haircut and rode around aimlessly on his motorcycle.
He says “You want to know what I did after I left the band? I visited my mom’s grave a lot.”
The first time Perry saw Kellie Nash, the love of his life, was in a film about breast cancer patients that was being edited by a Hollywood friend of his.

UPDATE: Stephen Pearcy issued the following statement yesterday:
Fan video of Ratt’s show Wednesday 9/26 at The Paramount has gone viral because singer Stephen Pearcy appears to be quite drunk! Sitting on the drum riser during parts of the show Pearcy seems to be losing his balance and about to fall over. At one point it looks like he’s grasping onto the drums to help him stay upright!
The tweet below shows Ratt bassist Juan Croucier trying to explain that Pearcy’s problem is pain from an injury.
More fans posted video (see below) and expressed disappointment in the band’s performance. Whether it was drink, [More]

Okay here’s a pretty good definition of One-Hit-Wonders: Artists that had only one hit single or one signature song that overshadows their other work, and made them famous. Many of these artists have more great songs but are principally known in pop culture because of one particular tune. So what’s on your one hit wonder playlist? WATCH the video below for some you may have forgotten
If you’ve got time on your hands check out the playlist below of One Hit Wonders from the 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s

One of the kids on the WBAB street team tuned me on to this band Ninja Sex Party (often shortened to the acronym NSP), and I kinda fell in love with their version of Def Leppard’s ‘Pour Some Sugar on Me’! Check it out in the video above.
Wikipedia describes the band as an “American musical comedy duo” but the group did record two non-comedic albums of covers of songs from the 70s and 80s.

Guitarist Dickey Betts retired from performing in 2014, but 4 and a half years later the Allman Brothers co-founder got bored and returned to the stage. Betts thrilled the crowd at Long Island’s Great South Bay Music Festival this summer and was looking forward to hitting the road again in November until he fell in what his family is calling a ‘freak accident’ in his backyard this past Monday! Betts is said to be in critical, but stable condition.
Here’s the announcement that was posted on Bett’s website

It’s a Long Island Cinderella story! Mike DelGuidice went from the Miller Place High School jazz band to forming Billy Joel tribute band Big Shot to joining Billy Joel’s actual band at the Piano man’s request in 2013.
Last Sunday Mike shared a video of himself performing the national Anthem at MetLife Stadium before the Jets game against the Miami Dolphins. Now mind you, the Star Spangled Banner is not an easy song to sing. We’ve seen many an artist mangle the tune, but not Mike, he nailed it and made Long Island proud!
