The only critics Steve Perry cares about are the fans.

He measures success by the number of encores the audience demands.

In the years after he left Journey he gained 50 – 60 pounds, got a butch haircut and rode around aimlessly on his motorcycle.

He says  “You want to know what I did after I left the band? I visited my mom’s grave a lot.”

The first time Perry saw Kellie Nash, the love of his life, was in a film about breast cancer patients that was being edited by a Hollywood friend of his.
