Billy Joel Talks Music, Women, His First Ever Gig at a Hicksville Church and More!

Parade magazine sat down with Billy Joel at his 20th Century Cycles shop in Oyster Bay for a wide ranging interview prompted by the upcoming milestone of Billy’s 100th performance at Madison Square Garden (July 18th).

In the interview Billy reminisces about his youth growing up in a poor household with a single mom struggling to provide for her family. Billy recounts the story of his very first gig with a band at age 14 at a dance at Holy Family Church in Hicksville. He said:

Hero Suffolk Cop Jumps Into Runaway Crane Cab on LIE to End Rush Hour Mayhem!

We all know drinking and driving don’t mix but drinking and driving heavy construction equipment on the Long Island Expressway in rush hour is a recipe for disaster!

Brian Sinclair, 47, of Riverhead, was driving a construction crane around 6pm last night on the LIE when cops noticed him driving erratically. The police gave chase and eventually surrounded him, but Sinclair refused to stop.
