WATCH: Prince’s Original Recording of ‘Nothing Compares 2 U’ Has Just Been Released and it’s Stunning

  • 8:30 am Friday, April 20th, 2018 by Donna Donna

Everyone knows Sinéad O’Connor’s version of Prince’s ‘Nothing Compares 2 U’, she had a hit with the song in 1990. But now after all these years we finally have Prince’s version. The track and accompanying video (above) was released by his estate yesterday and it’s gorgeous.

Prince recorded the song in 1984 with his longtime engineer Susan Rogers, at the Flying Cloud Drive Warehouse in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, a huge rehearsal space he used before building Paisley Park. Prince composed, arranged and performed the ballad in its entirety, with the aid of backing vocals from his then girlfriend Susannah Melvoin and Paul [More]

WATCH The Killers Open Rock Hall Ceremony With Rollicking Tribute to Tom Petty

  • 8:11 am Tuesday, April 17th, 2018 by Donna Donna

Brandon Flowers of the Killers was at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony Saturday night to induct The Cars, a band he told Rolling Stone was, “the first band I fell in love with, and they set me on the right track.”

Flowers and the Killers are also big Tom Petty fans and have been performing ‘American Girl’ and ‘Free Fallin’ in tribute to Petty at their shows since Petty passed away in 2017. So it made perfect sense for the Rock Hall to chose the band to open the induction ceremony in honor of Tom Petty.
