Donate buttonWe’ve been through Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, Cyber Monday and now today is Giving Tuesday, or as some call it Cyber Monday for charity!

A few of the Long Island charitable organizations that we’ve worked with here at Cox Media Group Long Island that I would like to suggest to you for your charitable donations include:

The John Theissen Children’s Foundation: John started his annual toy drive for sick children when he was a teenager and today his organization has grown to provide gifts, birthday parties and school supplies for sick and underprivileged kids all over Long Island. Learn more and donate at JTCF.org

Ronald MacDonald House Long Island: Ronald MacDonald House Long Island President Matt Campo and his crew at RMH Long Island do an amazing job providing not only a place to stay for families whose children are being treated at area hospitals, but an oasis of beauty and calm to nourish them. Learn more and donate at RMHlongisland.org

Island Harvest: In the 25 years since it’s inception Island Harvest has become Long Island’s largest hunger relief organization. Learn more and donate at IslandHarvest.org

Long Island Cares: Founded by the late Harry Chapin, Long Island Cares brings together all available resources for the benefit of the hungry and food insecure on Long Island. Learn more and donate at LIcares.org

Although Hope for the Warriors is not strictly a Long Island based charity, we’ve worked with them on a number of fundraisers. They are a veterans service organization that provides care to restore self, family, and hope to post-9/11 service members, their families, and families of the fallen. You can learn more about them and donate at hopeforthewarriors.org
